Tri-County Honor Band

Congratulations to Sydney Wyatt, Jacob Turner, Laura Simpson, Emily Rhodes, Taylor Bergschneider, Trista Ishmael, and Jade Pflug for participating in the Tri-County Honor Band that was held at North Mac High School last Thursday. These students had the wonderful opportunity to work with the famous composer Robert Sheldon all day and then put on a wonderful concert that night!

IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest

Junior High SEMA Solo and Ensemble Contest

Congratulations to junior high band students Mikayla Busby, Kaylee Casson, Bailie Dill, Hunter Mitchell, Ashley Stephens, Emily Tipsword, Alex Wilkinson and Courtney Williams for participating in the SEMA Solo and Ensemble Contest this morning at Tri-City! Every single instrumental group or solo performance received a Division 1 rating - a HUGE accomplishment! Way to go!

5th Grade African Drumming

Our fifth grade general music classes are in the middle of an African Drumming unit. Today we worked in groups to create our own rhythmic compositions. Here is one of the groups playing their very creative composition  on djembes, a conga, and a talking drum.



Field Trip to the Jacksonville Symphony

The fourth and fifth grade classes took a field trip today to the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Concert. The theme was "Music Around the World," and students were able to hear music from Russia, China, the Czech Republic, and Arabia! The students also heard music from composers that we have studied in class, including Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, and Copland. It was a fun-filled musical day!

Pep Band Plays for Men's Club Pancake Breakfast

Some of the members of the high school Pep Band played for the New Berlin Men's Club Annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast on Sunday morning. Thanks to those members who were able to come out and support their community!
