High School Band Chicago Trip

The high school band students spent three days this past weekend in Chicago both attending clinics with outstanding music educators in the area and visiting some of the best attractions the city has to offer! Thank you to our chaperones Nancy Fromme and Miriam Stowell and to Entourage Management (and our tour director Kevin Shaw) for making the trip a success! Most importantly, thank you to the band members for being model students the entire trip and making it fun and memorable for everyone involved! Here are some pictures from the trip!

Our students rehearsed all day with students from Auburn, Northwestern, North Mac, Pawnee, Riverton and Waverly. The students had the distinct privilege to work with Professor Barry Houser from the University of Illinois. Under his direction, the students put on a fantastic evening performance. Thank you to Professor Houser for his world class instruction! Congrats to all!

Ukulele Class Performs at Local Retirement Home

Thank you to the 8th grade music appreciation students who performed and lead a sing-a-long today at Bickford Senior Living of Springfield. Our students have been learning the ukulele over the course of the past few weeks and were able to show off their new talent and brighten the day of some senior residents of Springfield. Thank you to the IEA SCORE Grant initiative for funding our ukulele project and helping to make today possible!
