Community/8th Grade Pep Band Night

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our third annual Community/8th Grade Pep Band night! We had a blast playing with family members of our high school band members and showing our 8th grade students what being in high school band is like!

Outstanding First Performance by the 5th Grade Band

Congratulations to the 5th grade band on their first performance ever! The band did an outstanding job at their concert after only playing their instruments for a short 10 weeks. A record number of 38 students performed in the beginning band tonight! Keep up the great work!

ILMEA District 4 Festival

Congratulations to Calvin Brewer, Averie Innes, Bailie Dill, Laura Simpson and Alex Wilkinson for being selected to the ILMEA District 4 Music Festival. The students left bright and early Saturday morning for Western Illinois University where they spent the whole day making music with guest conductors and other students from schools across central Illinois. It is a huge honor to be selected to participate in these musical ensembles! Congrats!

Congratulations to the high school marching band on completing another wonderful marching season! A special thank you goes out to our seniors Taylor Bergschneider, Trista Ishmael, Jade Pflug, Emily Rhodes and Laura Simpson for their four years of dedication to our program!

Sangamon County Junior High Honor Band

Congratulations to Jacob Forbes, Kory Sanson, Will Beddingfield, Averie Innes, Malena Bixby, Lanee Sanson, Jessica Markley, Adrian Ishmael, Gabe Lowe, Monique Brown, Abbie Simpson and Emily Curry for participating in the Sangamon County Junior High Honor Band festival that took place yesterday at Glenwood High School. The students rehearsed all day under the direction of Dr. Ashley Jarrell from the University of Illinois and put on a wonderful evening performance.
