Tri-County Honor Band Festival

Congratulations to the members of the high school band who participated in the Tri-County Honor Band yesterday at Waverly! Our students combined with over 70 other students from Auburn, Northwestern, North Mac, Pawnee, and Waverly for a day of fantastic music making. The honor band rehearsed with guest conductor Judy Grimes for over seven hours to put on a wonderful evening performance! An extra special congratulations goes to Emily Tipsword for being one of two bass clarinets awarded the "Oustanding Section" award!

 

Junior High Band Receives All Division 1 Ratings at SEMA Solo and Ensemble

Congratulations to junior high band students Monique Brown, Kaylee Casson, Emily Curry, Bailie Dill, Averie Innes, Adrian Ishmael, Gabe Lowe, Jessica Markley, Kory Sanson, Lanee Sanson, Ashley Stephens, Courtney Williams, and Alex Wilkinson for participating in this weekends' SEMA Solo and Ensemble Contest at Tri-City. All of these students received division 1 ratings in their instrumental events, an extremely high honor! Congratulations also to band students Abbie Simpson and Ashley Surratt for performing in their vocal events.

Tri-County Honor Jazz Band Rehearsal

Hunter Mitchell, Tyler Madden and Denee' Wyatt represented New Berlin today at the Tri-County Honor Jazz Band's first rehearsal. These students will perform next Thursday along with the rest of the high school band at the Tri-County Honor Concert Band at Waverly High School!

Community Pep Band Night

We had a great turn out for our community pep band night that took place last Tuesday! Several community members and 8th grade students performed with the high school pep band at the varsity basketball game vs. Mount Pulaski. Great job, and thanks to everyone who helped make it a success!

Winter Concert

Congratulations to the 6th Grade, Junior High, and High School Bands for their fantastic performance in our Winter Concert last Wednesday! Great job!

ILMEA District IV Honors Music Festival

Congratulations to junior high students Kaylee Casson, Bailie Dill, Abbie Simpson, Ashley Surratt, and Alex Wilkinson, and high school students Logan Marr and Laura Simpson for participating in the Illinois Music Education Association's District IV Honors Music Festival this Saturday. These students participated in both the honors choir and honors band and put in a long day of rehearsing, learning, and creating music on the campus of Western Illinois University.
